Our home health agency is seeking someone highly skilled in Accounts Receivables and Payables with solid expertise in QuickBooks to manage financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency. This role is essential in ensuring smooth financial operations, timely reimbursements, and regulatory compliance within the home healthcare industry. The ideal candidate must have experience handling Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and patient billing, along with vendor payments and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and submit invoices for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private pay patients.
- Post and reconcile payments received from insurance companies, government programs, and patients in QuickBooks and the agency’s EMR (Homecare Homebase).
- Track outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments with insurance providers and patients.
- Prepare and analyze AR aging reports to ensure cash flow optimization.
- Address and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and payment delays.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims, rejections, and appeals.
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process vendor invoices for medical supplies, equipment, and operational expenses.
- Verify invoice accuracy, approvals, and contract compliance before processing payments.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely payments while optimizing cash flow management.
General Financial Responsibilities:
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in QuickBooks.
- Assist in financial audits and compliance reporting related to Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
- Collaborate with the billing department, payroll team, and agency leadership to maintain financial accuracy.
- Generate financial reports for senior management, including cash flow statements and expenditure reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with home health agency regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable/payable, preferably in healthcare or home health.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online/Desktop) is required.
- Experience with billing for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance in a home health setting.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare financial regulations and reimbursement processes.
- Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with Homecare Homebase or other home health EMR systems (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in home health, hospice, or a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of EVV (Electronic Visit Verification) compliance and billing requirements.
- Experience working with third-party billing and collections agencies.

- Knowledge of HIPPA compliance rules and regulations
- Posting of Insurance Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) day to day
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and MMA Program guidelines
