Accounting Clerk with Accounts Payable knowledge

Immediate need for an Accounts Payables clerk with Construction experience

Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies
- Prepare and process journal entries for accounts payable transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper coding and approval of invoices
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage or similar systems
- Experience with Paychex or other payroll processing systems is a plus
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or errors
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
