We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management systems and accounting principles, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Utilize payroll software such as UltiPro and Kronos for efficient processing.
- Conduct audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure proper handling of payroll-related transactions.
- Provide support for governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Assist in the development of payroll policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting payroll.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and technical accounting principles.
- Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in using payroll software such as UltiPro or Kronos is preferred.
- Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- A degree in accounting or finance is a plus but not required.
