Payroll Specialist

Location: West of Detroit (On-Site, 20 Minutes West of Detroit)
Salary: $50,000 - $58,000 per year

Spartan Capital Group is partnering with a well-established construction company west of Detroit to find a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, on-site role offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees
Ensure accurate timekeeping, wage calculations, and compliance with union labor agreements
Manage multi-state and multi-union payroll reporting
Handle payroll taxes, deductions, and benefits processing
Maintain accurate payroll records and assist with audits as needed
Address payroll-related inquiries and support employees with any concerns

Qualifications

1 to 3 years of payroll experience
Experience with multi-state and multi-union payroll reporting is preferred
Experience in union construction payroll is a plus
Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Strong knowledge of payroll systems and labor law compliance
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Experience with Viewpoint, Sage, or similar construction payroll software is a plus
